# Desk

Vaults, deals, games and conversations in one Desk, with private rooms and a separate review for every transaction.

Desk brings your **Vaults**, **Deals**, **Games** and **Conversations** together in four tabs. Its Deal Desk rooms are where more than one person finishes a money arrangement inside Enclave. An escrow, an inheritance vault, a last will: each opens a **room** with the parties named in its covenant, a sealed message thread, and the moves each party can make, side by side. The conversation and the contract live in the same place.

Compact: **Desk** in the dock. Studio: **Desk** on the rail. Both open the same four tabs. Studio also supports `#/desk/vaults`, `#/desk/deals`, `#/desk/games` and `#/desk/conversations`; an existing room keeps its `#/desk/<deal>` link.

## Four tabs

* **Vaults** holds TimeLock, Inheritance and Last Will registers, creation and their rooms. See [Vaults](/argon-docs/using-enclave/vaults.md).
* **Deals** holds arbitrated escrow, imports and each agreement's room. See [Escrow](/argon-docs/using-enclave/escrow.md).
* **Games** connects to DAGmate chess when you ask, with supported saved-match deposits and reclaim described below.
* **Conversations** holds Kasia peers, connection requests and private messages. Your [Contacts](/argon-docs/using-enclave/contacts.md) address book supplies names without changing a peer's address or role.

## Games

Choose **Open DAGmate** to play chess on dagmate.org. The board runs on that site, not inside Enclave. Free play and practice need no deposit. **Show public games** explicitly enables reads of its public service and game listings; opening the tab alone does not send wallet addresses or Contacts to the service.

Use **Find a match** and **Look up match** for a match ID. Public status and results are DAGmate's reports, not Kaspa consensus facts. If a mainnet wagered match publishes supported escrow details and this account is one of its players, **Save match** verifies and stores those details in your encrypted wallet. Saving does not transfer funds. Unsupported details remain a public status view.

A **Saved matches** entry remains available without loading the public lobby. Open it, then choose **Add deposit**, enter KAS and **Review deposit**, or choose **Review reclaim**. SureSign checks the supported escrow, the account's role and current node inputs. Reclaim also requires its DAA deadline to have passed. Each action opens its own transaction review; a refusal leaves the draft available to correct. Escrow addresses and the exact deadline are under **Escrow details**.

You can copy a match invitation and send it through Conversations. A reported game result does not authorize a payment. Any settlement request from the site uses the separate dApp review and the supported script checks; Enclave does not offer an unrestricted raw transaction signer.

## Conversations

Messages travel on Kaspa itself, using the **Kasia** protocol: each message is a small Kaspa transaction carrying text sealed to one recipient. There is no Enclave chat server, no relayer, nothing that has to be online for a room to exist. Kasia and KaChat users can read the same conversations as ordinary encrypted messages; other Enclave wallets also render the deal cards inside them.

Sealing, unsealing, and constructing every message happens inside SureSign. The interface only renders what SureSign unsealed, and every message you send is a SureSign review you approve like any transaction.

### Your Desk address

Each account has one **Desk address**, derived from your recovery phrase on its own branch (`…/3/0`). It is the address counterparties message, and it is also the key that holds your role in a covenant: when you open an escrow or a vault, role fields default to *My Desk*, and counterparties give you theirs from **My address** in their Desk. **Copy address** or show the QR code to share it.

### The float

Messaging needs a little KAS to carry the transactions. **Fund the Desk** (or **Add float**) moves KAS from your balance to the Desk; 1 KAS covers roughly a hundred messages. The float is kept in its own lane: it never counts toward **Spendable** on Home, ordinary transfers never spend it, and it never carries an Enclave fee. **Move to wallet** brings float, or settled proceeds, back to your balance whenever you like.

### Connecting

Before two Desks can message they exchange a **handshake**. **Invite** sends one to a Desk address you enter, with an optional private conversation name (it stays in your sealed Desk and is never sent). This Kasia alias is separate from a saved Contact. Saving a Contact does not send a handshake. The other side sees *Wants to connect* with **Accept** and **Block**; accepting sends the handshake back and the contact becomes connected. A handshake places 0.2 KAS with the counterparty, so a stranger cannot fill your Desk for free, and Enclave will not send a second handshake to a contact who is already connected or was invited in the last half hour. If both sides invite each other at once, the contact simply connects.

## Rooms

A room is opened by a covenant, never by hand: creating an escrow or a vault opens one with the parties from its constructor, and importing a deal packet or receiving a **deal card** opens the same room on the other side. Rooms are named by their family and the name the network gave the covenant, *Escrow · Eager Indigo Wren*, so the same words head the room, its Escrow or Vaults card, and its paperwork. Live rooms sit under **Rooms**; a room moves to **Concluded** when its deal settles.

Inside a room, in order:

**Next step.** One headline, worked out by SureSign from the covenant's live state on the network and your role: **Your move** with the button that takes it; **Your window** with the tick and approximate date when a move of yours opens; **Waiting on the seller / arbiter** with an **Ask the seller to join the deal** button that posts a request card; or **Settled**, with the outcome. Optional moves such as reclaim, refresh, or unwind sit underneath as quiet buttons under **Also open to you**. Every button is a fresh SureSign review; the thread itself never signs anything.

**Deal path.** A stepper of the deal's stages, filled to the beat the chain has reached.

**Facts and parties.** Program, lock, network, your role, each party and whether they are connected and hold the deal card, and the covenant's identity with a **kascov** link.

**The thread.** Sealed messages in order. Compose at the bottom and choose **Review** (Compact) or **Review in SureSign** (Studio). A message to a room is one sealed copy per connected party; the review names each copy.

### Deal cards

The author of a deal (the buyer of an escrow, the owner of a vault) sends the **deal card** so every connected party holds the same verified terms: the room leads with **Send deal card** until everyone has it. Any message or request sent to a party who does not yet hold the card carries the card along with it, so nobody can be stranded with a request they cannot see the deal for. When a card arrives, SureSign re-derives the deal's locks from its constructor before it is shown; a card that does not verify is shown as plain text with a warning and opens nothing.

After a covenant move is broadcast, the progress view offers **Share with the room**: a status card, written by SureSign in fixed words such as *Joined the deal*, so every party's room and register move together.

### Requests

Someone else's handshake to you appears under **Connection requests** (and as *n people want to connect* on the Desk). **Accept** or **Block**. Blocked senders are dropped before anything of theirs is read.

## What it costs

Every Desk transaction pays only Kaspa's network fee; there is no Enclave fee anywhere in the Deal Desk, and never one per message.

| Action | Moves | Network cost (at the current floor) |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| Fund the Desk | KAS from your balance to your Desk | Miner fee only |
| Handshake | 0.2 KAS placed with the counterparty | About 0.05 KAS (the 0.2 KAS output carries storage mass) |
| Message or card | 0.2 KAS carry that returns to your own Desk, per recipient | About 0.002 KAS per copy |
| Move to wallet | Desk to your balance | Miner fee only |

## Privacy

Message contents are sealed end to end with the Kasia cipher; only the recipient's Desk key can open them. The fact that two Desk addresses exchanged transactions is, like every Kaspa transaction, public. Your contact names and unsealed history are stored on this device, encrypted under a key derived from your vault, and cleared from memory when you lock.

## Interoperability

Enclave reads both the Kasia and KaChat message roots and writes Kasia's. A three-party deal is carried as pairwise messages fanned out by your wallet; nobody is an administrator and no group server exists. Group messaging in the Kasia protocol is under development upstream and will slot in behind the same cards when it is stable.
